It is important that you have a consultation with one of our physiotherapists before beginning classes. Not all Pilates options are suitable for certain injuries and conditions and your physiotherapist will advise you accordingly. Specific Pilates equipment programs are often suggested as they enable closer supervision and greater specificity to your rehabilitation.
If you and your physiotherapist have decided Pilates Mat Classes are suitable for you, you will first need to attend a Real Time Ultrasound appointment. This is to assist you in correctly engaging your pelvic floor and deep abdominal muscles, which is fundamental to Pilates technique. You may then attend three individual sessions, or attend three sessions with a friend or family member. Once this process is completed you are then eligible to attend any of our Plates Mat Classes, depending on your ability level.
If you have chosen to complete a Pilates Equipment Program, ten individual sessions and a Real Time Ultrasound appointment are required. Once this process is complete, you are then able to attend our Group Equipment Sessions.
