Working gently to help you overcome movement limitations as you age.
Designed specifically for those with movement limitations, this session involves both sitting and standing and is aimed at improving overall general health at a mature age so you can get the most out of life and movement, and prevent injuries that are associated with ageing, such as falling due to balance problems.
The focus is on improving balance and stability through weight bearing and strengthening of legs and quads, as well as on functional exercises to improve activities of daily living.
Being formulated with a mature audience in mind, it is well suited for those unable to get up and down off the floor easily, those with low bone density/osteoporosis, and those recovering from injury.
These sessions may be eligible for a private health fund rebate if you meet the criteria. Typically, 1-2 individual Physiotherapy sessions are required prior to joining classes.
