Physiotherapist & Pilates Instructor
“It is very satisfying to see people come out the other side of their pain experience; to help them build confidence to explore new ways to move and gradually get back to doing the things that matter most to them.”
About
An experienced hands-on physiotherapist, Anita attributes her diverse skill set to early career opportunities both interstate and overseas. With a love of nature and the great outdoors she jumped at the chance to join a team of medics on the ski fields of New Zealand, where she gained invaluable first-hand experience in the management of acute sporting injuries. It was during this time she had her first introduction to Pilates and its application in the rehab of a range of sporting and general musculoskeletal injuries.
Since then, other areas of physiotherapy have sparked an interest, including occupational injuries and ergonomics, dizziness and balance disorders (particularly BPPV) and more recently the management of chronic pain conditions. Anita has a strong interest in the area of pain neuroscience and has completed ‘Explain Pain’ and ‘Graded Motor Imagery’ professional courses through the Neuro Orthopaedic Institute (NOI) in Adelaide. She enjoys helping people learn about the biology of their pain experience and challenging them to move with less fear of pain so that they can gradually return to doing the things they enjoy.
For those who share Anita’s love of community theatre, you may have seen her in non-physio roles. She is a long time thespian and still regularly performs in Adelaide community theatre productions.
Anita joined the PPP team in 2018 and consults at our St Peters and Stirling practice locations.
