What is GLA:D®?

GLA:D® (Good Life with osteoArthritis: Denmark) is a world-leading exercise and education program for people with hip or knee osteoarthritis now available at Physio Pilates Proactive.

Led by specially trained physiotherapists, GLA:D® is designed to help you manage joint pain without surgery and regain the freedom to move with confidence. Developed in Denmark and backed by strong research, GLA:D® is now used across the globe with real results.

What’s included in the GLA:D® program?

Initial Assessment
You’ll meet one-on-one with a GLA:D-trained physiotherapist who will assess your joint function, movement, and personal goals. This ensures we tailor the program to your needs and abilities right from the start.

Two Education Sessions
You’ll learn how osteoarthritis works, what contributes to pain, and the most effective ways to manage it. This includes understanding treatment options, building healthy habits, and learning how to stay active safely.

12 Supervised Exercise Sessions (over 6 weeks)
Small group classes give you support and motivation, while your physiotherapist personalises exercises to your level. Each session focuses on building strength, improving movement, and reducing pain with progress at your pace.

3-Month Review
We’ll reassess your strength, movement, and symptoms, so you can see just how far you’ve come — and keep moving forward with confidence.
